Fifth Day

Rain hasn't fallen for the fifth straight day
Twenty two days ago, it was the end of May
This is really all I ever had to say
Never really mattered much anyway
I'm just waiting for you to say
I figured out the problem and it starts with me
Never believe things that you're own eyes can't see
Just tell me something that I do not know
And don't forget to wake me when it's time to go
I'm just waiting for you to say
I can't stand this waiting for you to say

I don't want to be an army of one.
I'm armed with no desire to be society's son
Don't want to be told what I can and can't say
You cannot legislate my morality today
I want to be free to make my own decisions
I don't want to be a part of Matthew Hale's brand new religion
There's something in the air and I'm not feeling right
There's something in the air that's keeping me awake at night
I thought about moving to a northern nation
To protest this war that's serving corporations
I want to make a difference in a way that's mine
That's more than slapping slogans on a protest sign
I want to be free to make my own decisions
I don't want to be a part of Matthew Hale's brand new religion
I want to make a difference in a way that's mine
That's more than slapping slogans on a protest sign
There's something in the air and I'm not feeling right
There's something in the air, you know, it's keeping me awake at night
The bodybags are touching down at Dover today
Don't call them casualties of war, just call it artwork on display

Corporate America was calling out to you
But you had better things to do
Forever planting the seeds of destruction
You had a different point of view
Nothing but much respect for you
You packed your bags and big dreams
And heades for the west coast
But the one thing, the one thing
That I remember most
Is that you stayed true, true to your core
And I'm left here with memories and thoughts, left behind
Because those great thoughts, they don't ever die
They never die
Corporate America was calling out to you
But you had better things to do
Forever planting the seeds of destruction
Nothing but much respect for you
